Reporting to the Finance Manager, this newly created position will see you aid the production of detailed financial information required to aid the close control of Company accounts.

Duties to be undertaken include:

  • The production of weekly cost and sales reports for Directors, Commercial Team and Operations Managers
  • Assisting the Finance Manager in preparation of Monthly Management Accounts to Trial Balance stage
  • Month End Control Account Reconciliations
  • Posting weekly project costing journals and monthly nominal journals on Sage 200
  • Processing sales invoices and managing the Company debtor ledger
  • Analysing company financial performance for Key Performance Indicators
  • Preparation of Company VAT returns and managing statutory payments including CIS & PAYE
  • Working within, developing, and managing Company financial systems and policies
  • Co-ordinating your work with other departments and the management team to help make informed financial decisions

The successful applicant will be:

  • Ideally degree qualified, working towards / attained CIMA / ACCA qualifications
  • Familiar with Sage Accounting Software (preferably Sage 200)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Willing to learn new skills and benefit from ongoing training and support
  • An effective communicator at all levels with close attention to detail when preparing and documenting reports

Remuneration:

This is a grade 5a role with the following benefits:

Reporting to the Project Compliance Manager, the Technical Compliance Manager will:

  • Coordinate works in accordance with company policies and procedures including method statements, risk assessments, safety systems of work and CDM regulations
  • Manage and supervise the delivery of works on site to meet programme and commercial constraints
  • Hold line management responsibility for the quality of outputs delivered by up to five trades persons (Fire Stopping Technicians, Joiners and Operatives), including evidence-based testing of installations
  • Liaise with a range of project stakeholders, ensuring all works are planned in advance and that all logistical arrangements for the supply of materials, plant and equipment is well thought out and fully co-ordinated
  • Maintain close links with a team of project planners and that all works are co-ordinated through the company’s CAFM system

Within this role you will have responsibility for the coordination, document and process management function of multiple passive fire protection projects delivered across a wide geographical area and within a range of occupied buildings including social housing blocks, education establishments, offices and district healthcare trusts.

 

Key Responsibilities within this role will be:

  • Reporting to the Client Service Manager

Job description - Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will oversee business operations across the Company’s North West Region. Responsible for multiple term based passive fire protection projects delivered for clients within the social housing, education, healthcare, and accommodation sectors, you will managing multiple projects from initial survey, pre-commencement planning, project mobilisation and completion with full P&L responsibility.

Additionally, the Operations Manager will:

  • develop and grow the existing team comprising 2 Project Compliance Managers, 4 Technical Compliance Managers and c. 25 Technicians (fire stoppers and joiners).
  • interface with and gain ongoing support from back-office functions spanning Commercial, Contract Administration, Procurement & Logistics, Safety and Technical.
  • drive and maintain performance across range of measures including safety, quality, commercial, client and customer.
  • hold account management responsibility for key accounts taking responsibility for new contract mobilisation and delivery. 

The successful applicant will:

  • be a commercially aware, target driven team player with experience in multi-disciplined contract / operational management

Grade 5A - Fire Door Surveyor

In the role of Fire Door Surveyor, you will visit multiple building types comprising student accommodation blocks, occupied housing blocks, care homes, public buildings, schools, and universities to perform condition surveys on fire doorsets.

In the case of occupied housing blocks this will include flat entrance doors where you will be required to meet predetermined access protocols and customer care procedures when liaising with customers and gaining access to perform your surveys.

The surveys you perform will be collated through use Bolster software accessible through a smart phone application. Once located on floor plans, each doorset will be tagged, enabling you to assess condition against a series of prompts and approved repair techniques. Taking approximately 10 minutes to complete, each survey will require you to obtain measurements, supported by photographic records.

Where replacement door sets are identified, the measurements you obtain will be used to secure orders for manufacture that meet exacting requirements, so knowledge of various door sets and installation requirements will be essential.

Often working on your own, you will be required to maintain regular contact with your line manager and members of our planning team to maintain records of outputs, validate survey results and finalise reports before submission to our clients.

The role will suite, motivated team players with good organisation skills, knowledgeable in survey and measure work that use initiative to meet predetermined targets.

Essential skills:

  • Clean driving licence

Reporting to the Fire Door Surveying Manager, you will hold responsibility for the operational delivery of a term-based fire door inspection and remedial works Contract spanning a diverse range of buildings. With line management responsibility for up to three full time surveyors and two fire door maintenance technicians, you will manage delivery of the programme, ensuring safety, quality and performance standards are maintained.

Health & Safety Advisor  

The Health & Safety Advisor will provide ongoing health and safety support to site-based operations, including the production of construction phase health and safety plans, risk assessments and methods statements. Working closely with site management teams and technicians, you will champion HSEQ initiatives monitoring site safety performance ensuring compliance with ISO45001 Safety, Quality and Environment Management systems, company policies and procedures.  

Additionally, you will:

  • Perform accident / incident reports and investigations
