Reporting to the Managing Director, the Recruitment Manager will take responsibility for the identification, appointment and on-boarding of new recruits across operating regions that include Yorkshire, the North West, the North East and the Midlands.

Working closely with team members responsible for operational delivery, training and the ongoing assessment of competence, the Recruitment Manager will develop regional talent pools across disciplines that include trade, technical and office administration roles. 

In addition to managing the Company’s recruitment function, the resource manager will hold responsibility for the administration of personnel data and co-ordination of the on-boarding process.

Day to day, the role will include:

  • Understanding the pipeline of live and future dated projects, planning, and setting recruitment strategies required to meet demand
  • Developing job descriptions to accurately reflect the requirements of each role
  • Searching for suitable candidates
  • Advertising job availability through online channels and other media including social networking sites for suitable candidates with the required skills
  • Telephone screening and assessment of candidates
  • Online and face to face interviews and assessments
  • Judging applicants based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics
  • Issuing offers of employment
  • Co-ordinating the onboarding process with other team members
  • Ensuring training records are kept up to date and that the journey through our onboarding processes are fully documented through use of Sage HR
  • Liaising with colleagues to determine the success of each appointment
  • Reporting against progress and retention rates
  • Refining and developing the end-to-end recruitment processes

We are currently looking for experienced fire stoppers to join our employment and help us deliver a number of long-term fire protection projects.

Region:

North East

Job Description:

As a directly employed member of our team you will be required to install penetration sealing systems and cavity barriers in strict accordance with manufacturer assembly details.

Applicants should be able to manage their own diary, be punctual, polite and keen to work as part of a busy fire safety team. In addition, you will be required to follow established company policies and procedures, ensuring safety standards are satisfied and that quality control standards are maintained.

All works will be performed in occupied buildings including multi occupancy housing blocks, buildings of public amenity, health care facilities, education establishments, student accommodation blocks and security sensitive office buildings and workplaces (no new build sites).

Training on the company fire stopping procedures, health & safety and customer care will be provided but existing knowledge and a minimum of 2 years’ experience installing penetration sealing systems and cavity barriers within occupied buildings is essential.

Fire Stopper

Carrying out Fire Stopping works to riser cupboards, above cross corridor doors, ceiling lines and loft spaces within occupied social housing blocks, schools and public building, our fire stoppers will be required to deliver works to high standards, agreed specifications and standard details.

Working within strict standards of quality, cleanliness and overall process compliance, have significant experience of fire stopping works and be fully trained in effective site safety and asbestos awareness.

It is preferable for candidates to also have experience processing works orders and quality control documentation requests through use of tablet computers

Key Responsibilities within this role will be:

  • Installation of fire batt, mastic, and intumescent product, to manufacturers guidelines.
  • Always adhere to health and safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Working closely with labouring team

An individual who is an effective team player and who pays close attention to detail. Passive Fire Protection Surveyor

Completing fire inspections and compartmentation surveys on a mixture of healthcare and educational premises.

 

  • Delivering reports and surveys
  • Understanding fire strategies
  • Liaising with residents and clients

The role will suite

Team players with experience of delivering fire protection, refurbishment and/or building works safely, to a high standard on time and within budget.

Individuals with an interest in fire protection, willing to learn new technical skills through a programme of industry specific training.

Essential skills

  • FIRAS certification
  • Experience completing compartmentation surveys and fire inspections
  • Having knowledge of the fire protection installation process
  • Experience surveying fire doors and frames
  • Knowledge of Rockwool and Hilti Standard details

  • Labouring for on site Fire stoppers and joiners

Based at our Leeds Head Office and reporting to the Commercial Director, the Estimator will prepare robust time and cost estimates for new work enquiries.

Enquiries will comprise a range high value, long term contracts/framework agreements and a series of one-off projects with individual contract values of c. £300K. All works enquires will comprise elements of fire protection including fire stopping, fire doors and active fire protection systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting systems and dampers).

In addition, the Estimator will:

  • Prepare priced response to a rolling pipeline of tender enquiries
  • Work with Operational and Commercial colleagues to help develop proposals through innovation, and creativity
  • Keep detailed records of all enquiry documentation, including site assessments and contract terms
  • Balance multiple enquiries at once, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Keep systems used to manage and report pipeline progress up to date
  • Work within a well-established framework when analysing enquiries, identifying any potential risks and devising mitigation strategies
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients keeping a sales-minded attitude, extending to building relationships with new clients

The role will suite

Commercial focused team players with an interest (and ideally a proven track record) in passive and active fire protection.

Essential skills

  • Experience within Estimating Passive Fire Protection Works
  • Having knowledge of the fire protection installation process
  • Effective customer-facing skills and be able to self-manage workloads
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated through a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (the program used to prepare responses to all enquires)
  • A full appreciation of key contract terms including the JCT and NEC Form of Contract
  • A clean full driving licence
