As a directly employed member of our team you will be required to install new fire door sets and carry out fire door maintenance to third party certification standards.

Applicants should be able to manage their own diary, be punctual, polite and keen to work as part of a busy fire safety team. In addition, you will be required to follow established company policies and procedures, ensuring safety standards are satisfied and that quality control standards are maintained.

All works will be performed in occupied buildings including multi occupancy housing blocks, buildings of public amenity, health care facilities, education establishments, student accommodation blocks and security sensitive office buildings and workplaces (no new build sites).

Training on the company fire door installation and maintenance procedures, health & safety and customer care will be provided but existing knowledge and a minimum of 2 years’ experience installing fire doors within occupied buildings is essential.

Electrical Qualifying Supervisor

While working in accordance to the relevant Safety Regulations and departmental procedures, you will have to carry out a variety of different duties.

As our next Electrical Qualifying Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

•Being the main point of contact between NEO Compliance Team / Managers and where appropriate the client.

•Carrying out Risk Assessment of all electricians and ensure that this information is attached to the monthly skills matrix which is sent to the Compliance team every month.

•Verifying all electricians’ inspection & testing results whether electronically or on paper in a timely manner to prevent Invoicing delays ensuring that due care and attention is maintained when verifying these results so as to prevent any potential claims against Mears for unsafe electrical issues.

•Being registered as the Qualifying Supervisor for the branch and be available for annual assessments by the NICEIC as prescribed within the rules of enrolment.

Skills required for this job role consist of:

•Experience with installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances in accordance with the current Edition of The IET Wiring Regulations

•Have the knowledge to install, repair, inspect & test electrical installations and have the ability to fill in correctly, the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition Report

•Exposure to Supervising a team of electricians and apprentices ensuring that work is carried out in a safe and timely manner

Essential Qualifications

•City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, or

•NVQ Level 3 Including AM2, or

•City and Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3, or (from Sept 2011)

•City and Guilds 2357 Including AM2

•City and Guilds 2392 – Fundamental Certification, Inspection and Testing

•City and Guilds 2391 (or to have shown competence in the area of Inspection & Testing electrical installations, in accordance with Guidance Note 3 of the IET and have a good knowledge of a variety of electrical installation work. Or to have been assessed by such persons as the NICEIC for the role of Qualifying Supervisor) or

•City and Guilds 2394 –Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations, and

•City and Guilds 2395 – Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations, and
•City and Guilds 2382-10/12 or 2382-20 (17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations)

Proposals Coordinator / Bid Writer

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Proposals Coordinator / Bid Writer will interpret requirements from tender opportunities and produce written responses to a range of bids comprising term contracts, framework agreements and one-off projects.

The role will involve dissecting technical proposal questions, sourcing content and creating responses that clearly communicate differentiators within the services we offer.

The ideal candidate will have past experience of proposals coordination / bid writing for opportunities targeted from within the public and third sector. They will be able to write effective, concise and compelling content while managing workloads against competing deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining content for bid responses
  • Work with other specialists within the business to create written material for bid responses (viewed as a key enabler to growing personal knowledge of our services and the client base)
  • Incorporating comments received from reviewers
  • Ensuring the writing structure and words used in the bid persuasively convey our offer to the client
  • Develop and manage a bid and proposals library
  • Actively encourage client feedback to refine future responses
  • Manage a database of enquiries
  • Support other team members to draft and distribute promotional content linked to current projects

Key Skills / Experience

  • Experience in tender proposal development in a services business, ideally with knowledge of passive fire protection
  • Proven capability in delivering winning bids
  • A high attention to detail with an excellent editing and proofing ability
  • Excellent literacy skills, with an extensive vocabulary
  • Strong document presentation style
